This semester's Building-Energy Conference Day was held successfully on October 23, at Yifu Building in Tongji, focused on building energy system analysis of mega tall buildings. The seminar was initiated by Prof. Yiqun Pan and Prof. Peng Xu, organized by Tongji University and HVAC Online, co-organized by Shanghai Refrigeration Society and China Engineering & Consulting Association. 380 delegates had attended the conference, including academics and scholars of universities, construction bureaus, design institutes and energy consultancies, mainly from Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.
Within the conference program, senior engineer Yi Liu from TJAD and Ge Cui from China Construction 3rd Engineering Bureau gave detailed case analysis of the mechanical system in Shanghai Tower and Tianjin 117 Building. Senior engineer Duo Su from Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design and Prof. Xu addressed critical issues on skyscraper’s system design with case study and field survey. Dr. Chaoqin Zhai from United Technologies Corporation, Eric Tomich, chief at SOM and Yongji Li from Shanghai Tower Realty shared their opinion about Mega-tall building from different angles, like energy, design and management.
As to the roundtable session, lecturers shared the hardships they encountered with during mega-tall building's design and operation, and discussed the topics like: what counted most in downsizing the energy? how to optimize the department cooperation centered around one construction project?
